Dark Souls, the first, was a kind of disappointing for me. I missed the Nexus and the Maiden in black so much… Actually, I missed the fact that we could access all levels by a clear central hub. In Dark Souls 2, this is the same, but I felt more comfortable. I don’t know why.
Anyway, This Artbook is much more full of art than the first Design Works for Dark Souls. I really love the artistic direction of this game and this book makes me feel that the title goes more deeply in the perfection.
The book counts 239 high quality pages enumerating three chapters: Concept Arts Dark Souls 2, Concept Arts Dark Souls 2: The Lost Crowns ; and Chapter 3 Special Contents. You won’t find researches works but the oversized illustration are gorgeous. We feel much more precision in the drawings than the previous Artbooks of Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls.
The only thing I want now, is an, Artbook from… Bloodborne!
